Response to Intervention is a process of responsive teaching to meet the needs of all learners by providing high quality instruction and interventions matched to student need. Students are assessed using a brief screening tool to determine if they are meeting grade appropriate benchmarks in reading, math, and/or behaviour. When students fall below the benchmark, they are provided effective research-based interventions designed to address their specific, targeted needs. Their progress is assessed frequently through progress monitoring and instruction is adjusted based on assessment results.
