Explicit Language Instruction Strategies for ELLs in Mainstream Classrooms (with Kathy Salmon)
Teaching ELLs is more than "just good teaching". This session explores practical strategies for explicit language instruction that can be embedded within the context of everyday learning experiences. Strategies for vocabulary, grammar, syntax and conventions will be explored. The use of anchor charts, graphic organizers and technology are effective teaching tools when working with ELLs. These tools can be used to demonstrate, practice and recycle the target language and forms. These strategies and tools will be demonstrated during the webinar.
